I have an iPhone 4 with the sim card reader broken. It was unlocked with a turbosim and the owner forced to extract the sim damaging one of the contacts of the sim reader. I have the part to replace, but I´m not find a way that convinces me. Any ideas, suggestions, thanks…

I´ve get the part from Luna Commerce (China). And I found a guy (I´m live in Argentina) that can repair iPhone logicboards. He could succesfully solder the sim card reader and the iPhone is alive again.

It is a very difficult job since the contacts are so small. The sim car reader is very cheap but the job is difficult. I would suggest you find a repair shop that can fix it. Surely the iPhone is worth it. I know these guys do wonders (located in UK) www.ipaqrepair.co.uk

Desolder the existing card reader by use of a heat gun. Then you will use a solder iron to clean up the 6 pads. I use desolder alloy to coat the pads and once the pads are dressed up I reinstall new sim card reader and using a heat gun on low heat melt the reader into place, use a little no clean flux to aid in the solder flow. Make sure to use a good 63/37 solder to anchor the 4 mounting pads. The desolder alloy is electrically conductive and has a very low melting point so you will not damage other components with to much heat, but is very brittle and needs the lead solder to make it hold better.

Hey I have a similar problem somone broke off the SIM card reader tray on my i phone 4 I just need to know where I can get the part asap and how much it will cost to fix it I got phone for 30$
