I bought a replacement switch assembly for my Broan Eclipse Model 2830 Downdraft Blower System. I already had the simple disassembly done and tried to swap out the parts, but there’s a small circuit board riveted to the old assembly AND the actual switch is also riveted. So somehow I must un-rivet the circuit board from the old assembly (without damaging it) and attach it to the new one. I’m just a DIY gal with a rollaway of ordinary household tools. Any suggestions? Please?

Hi @chemess , Usually the way to remove rivets is to drill them out. Use a drill bit with the same diameter as the rivet shank. Drill from the rivet head side. This will release it from the rivet head and usually the rivet head will wrap around the drill bit and the shank will fall out. Just be careful where the metal swarf created by drilling goes, that is doesn’t get stuck anywhere on the board and possibly create electrical problems when the power is connected You can then either rivet the board back into place with a same size rivet or whatever fills the fixing hole e.g. a suitably sized nut with washer(star washer?) and bolt arrangement perhaps. Post some images of the board, rivet etc as maybe there might be other suggestions. Here’s how to do this Adding images to an existing question
