I bought an old Mac online. The ad stated that is was functional with no HD, but when installed an SSD, I noticed tiny vertical lines. I’ve read about baking a specific chip inside the computer to help resolve this. That seems kinda extreme and I don’t think I’m up to diving that deeply into the mechanics of this old computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Without seeing a good image of your problem its hard to tell you what the source of the problem is: Thick Black lines is a sign of a damaged LCD panel not the GPU.Thin moving lines is often video signal noise which can be a damaged LVDS cable or the connectors on the logic boards the cable spans.Chroma shift is often a bad T-CON board in these older systems.Loss of video image can be a damaged display or GPU logic.
