Chosen Solution

The picture shows an iPhone 5S glass unit, with the glass is detached from the thin plastic frame. What held the two parts together originally, and what’s the best way to repair?

I’m considering thin double sticky tape, but there seems precious little area for the tape to grab to. All parts of this phone work fine.

First of all youre very lucky that its working!!!! Be carfull about the wire connections and dont fold them For sticking all together the best solotionis to use uv glue which is a liquid glue and its advantage is that its a glue and after drying you screen is in right position and not higher thanthe frame comparing to tape ,but if you can find a thin tape thats ok. Remember to unscrew back metal plate then apply glue

These screens are usually held together using a special adhesive, the name of which I forget at this present moment. In some cases a standard 3M tape mold may fit nicely, but I’ve seen a lot of refurbishers use a bulk liquid adhesive solution they apply (in globs) to the screen to ensure a seal. If you’re trying to re-assemble yourself, I’d say be extra cautious about trying to “hack” a solution when this really calls for a replacement screen. If you’re trying to have fun/experiment, I’ve heard B-7000 is quite effective. I’ve used it myself a few times but it does leave a mess if not applied right. https://www.amazon.com/AOMAG%C2%AE-Cryst
