Hi guys, so on my iPhone I just replaced the screen, battery & lightning connector all in one go! Very pleased so far as it’s all done and I just tested it no worries, before I stick it back together. I wanted to check before I got it stuck again. so how do I get this adhesive back on, I have the replacement one, There is no holes for the cables. Do I need to disconnect the screen again To put the adhesive on. The case got a really good clean when I had it stripped basically. Or can I do it without disconnecting screen. also what do I stick it too? The case or the screen. sorry but the adhesive guides are a bit vague for me. a bit of advice please. Especially on any tips too apply. Thanks in advance.

You have to disconnect the screen. First identify which way is top and up, then always peel off the bottom backing, then align the adhesive carefully so it does not wrinkle or drop off the edge. If there is any misalignment, trash the adhesive and start over. Then press on the adhesive a little to make sure they stick to the frame, otherwise when you peel off the final backing, it may be pulled up and ruined, forcing you to start over. Then peel off the big top backing to be able to connect the display. As you are about to close the device, peel off the final backings. You will mess up a couple times before being able to create a proper seal, so buy like 5 or 10 sets for a start. Anyway if you have replaced the screen and the lightning connector, don’t bother with the water resistance too much. I believe none of the aftermarket screens have properly sealed between the plastic bezel and the front glass, so applying adhesive under the bezel is pointless. You also have to replace the interfacing adhesive between case and the lightning connector, the microphone and maybe the bottom grills, which I believe you have not done it the proper water-resistant way. Consider the phone to be barely dust-proof after this, unless you can do a pressure test to demonstrate that all the gaps are sealed except for the baro vent on the bottom left side.
