Chosen Solution

So I work at a cell phone repair company and for the most park I am pretty knowledgeable with phones. So I have a customer that brought there iPhone 6s Plus. She was in a abusive relationship and said her boyfriend threw her phone at the wall. So I replaced the screen about 3 times and every time she has touch issues. My question is, could the touch ic chip cause the phone to touch on it’s own? I know the touch can go out but I didn’t know if it can touch on it’s own. Just really wanna get her phone fixed. Thanks!

Touch IC is on the screen itself for the iPhone 6S/6S Plus. However, the touch IC has to be properly secured to the back plate. If it moves, it can cause issues and may be ghosting. If you look at the original Apple screen assemblies, that grey IC is secured left and right to the back plate using small pieces of black tape, and to the front cam assembly using a plastic/nylon bracket. Put those back. Otherwise to narrow it down, ghost touching is first and foremost screen, second connector. Hardly anything else. If you had no touch, or intermittent touch, you would start looking at the board for display power rails.

Yes, it can touch on it´s own (called ghosting). There 3 possibilities that could cause your problem.

  1. broken Connector ( measure connections between connector and) logicboard)
  2. Broken Touch IC/Broken solder points (replace the touch IC on the logicboard)
  3. defective or low-quality Display (test the Display you installed on your customer’s phone on a phone with working touch and test if the ghosting continues But all in all this problem can be hard to fix because the phone was thrown. This hard acceleration can cause many defects on the logicboard, for example, defective solder pads or points or small cracks in the connection lines (which can cause temporary defects depending on the temperature of the logicboard)

My iPhone 6s Is Ghosting , everytime I turn it on it just does crazy things. But I think it might be because my pixels are cracked. I can’t see the bottom of my screen because my pixels are messed up. I’m hoping its just because the screen is messed up. Email me at kingmrt@yahoo.com
