Hi. I put my Samsung phone (which had a crack a cross the screen) and the iPhone that I just (literally just did) received in a waterproof bag and went for a swim When I was done, I noticed that my phones were wet. I was clicking on the home and lock buttons on my iPhone but it wasn’t working. The battery of my Samsung phone was already drained so I didn’t click on the buttons anymore. The Samsung had a huge screen crack, so water entered through the crack. I started to freak out but I did not tell anyone. The incident happened yesterday. As of today, I am still on vacation. I will not be able to do the “rice trick” or “silicon pack trick” since I’m staying in a hotel, but we’ll be home my tomorrow night. Right now, I don’t use my 2 phones anymore. My mother knows about the water inside the cracks of my Samsung and that my iPhone won’t turn on, but for different reasons (yes, I lied). What can you advice me to do 3 days after my phones got immersed in water? Please help me! Thank you so much!
@txpxxmari “I will not be able to do the “rice trick” or “silicon pack trick” " that is okay since those are bogus “tricks” anyway, does not work. Anyway, what I would do is to turn both devices off, then pack them in a water proof bag with the water in it and place them in a fridge. I know it sounds crazy but that is what keeps them from corroding. Of course you do have to make sure they are off. Once you get home, treat both phones for water damage as appropriate. Remember that the damage is already done.
The only thing you can do is let them air dry until you get home. When you get back, take it into your local cell phone repair shop. They will open your phone and dry out any remaining liquid and see if they can get it working with new parts! Good luck to you!
