There is a few things you can try to reactivate the adhesive. First you’ll need to take the battery out carefully cleaning the uppercase of any residual adhesive Use something like Goof Off afterwards you’ll need to clean off the Goof Off as well as it leaves a film using 85% or better isopropyl alcohol. If the adhesive is not damaged with junk you can use ethanol to reactivate. Take a paper towel with is wet and wipe across the pads lightly to just moisten the surface while still wet place the battery back in. The other approach is to fully remove the adhesive using the Goof Off and then applying the larger strips of Precut Adesive Card (getting two cards using the larger strips) or 8mm Tesa 61395 Tape But before you remount the battery let’s make sure the battery is good. Update (06/28/2020) OK, looking at CoconutBattery we can see the battery is not able to supply any data to your SMC logic within the logic board. So for starters you do need a new battery!
