Dear iFixit, How long can one expect the SSD in the Macbook Pro 13" (without Touchbar) 128GB to last with regular use? Thank you. Kind regards, Yousif

Good question! No one really knows! The problem here is how you use your system has a bigger bearing on its lifespan. So someone who is a light user will find it will last a very long time. In fact I would guess much longer than a mechanical hard drive! But there is a catch! you can’t leave it turned off more than a year without risk of the data from rotting out. Someone who is doing a lot of data churning (adding and removing data) will wear the drive out sooner than what a mechanical hard drive can sustain. So in this case its not good! I strongly recommend you do backups and rotate the drives so you know you have at least two other copies if this is your only system. If you have two systems and they are sync’ed you could get away with one backup.

Well under normal use i think it can last for more than 3 years or so on. Modern day SSDs are very reliable and they come with good endurance.
