How hard is it to replace the logic board on a mid-2011 27" iMac? My local Apple Authorized Service location wants $1,700 to replace it! I think I can get the part from eBay for around $600, but it comes without the CPU. Is that hard to swap out?
It is and Advanced DIY project - you basically have to completely dismantle and reassemble the entire machine. There are about 29 steps (this guide is similar to what you have to do).
