I have an iMac and the hard drive failed. Do you have a step-by-step guide for a novice to follow?
I tried that – everything seemed to go smoothly. When I started my computer (with the Snow Leopard disk), I got an initial chime and black screen. I heard the hard drive whirring like it was trying to read the new hard drive. No Apple symbol, no nothing. I tried rebooting holding the C-key – still nothing.
