Anybody know how to find a corrupt app? My phone has been lagging for weeks now, but when I run it in Safemode, the phone works normally Which means its not the safeware, but one of the many apps on the phone. I have a lot of apps, like anybody else, but does anyone know a way to isolate which app is causing the problem?

Often going into the app manager and clearing the cache of a select app will let you know which app is causing issue . if the phone doesnt lag when that apps cache has been cleared and then lags after the app is used this is a good sign theres something wrong with the app . You can also stop the apps. most people dont know that an app stays active and running until you close the app. Just going out of the app does not shut it down it remains active in the background until you actually close the app . Hope this helps

Hmm…Do you have it set to automatically update your apps or do you manually update them? If the latter, you can possibly figure out what app was last updated before you started to experience lagging issues. Might need to do some investigative work. Are all your apps from a trusted source? Did you install any apps during the time it started to lag? How much internal memory do you have left? If little, delete some apps to clear up some space. Have you tried CCleaner app (or similar optimization app) to optimize your phone? Have you run a virus scan? The OS update I just got last week for my Galaxy s7e phone optimized my phone. Did you get an update yet or is s4 not supported by Samsung any more? Good luck!

For some reason, Samsung hasn’t released an update for the S4 in almost 2 years. Strange considering the phone is still in circulation. Like Toyota not servicing the 2014 model anymore because the 2017 models are released. Most apps are set to automatically update. The ones that aren’t are the ones nobody uses “Google Newspaper, ChatOn, etc” so I have them set to manual update, because I won’t auto-update them.

  1. Ran an AVG Virus scan: Nothing
  2. Got 4-5 gigs of space left on my internal and SD card too. All the apps I downloaded are from the Playstore itself. My FB Messenger app just updated, and all the apps I had set to never update, I click update, so now every app on my phone is updated…or “updated”. Who knows at this point…
