Hey, So since last week my laptop cpu began overheating which caused my pc to thermal throttle when playing games. I tried reapplying thermal paste, cleand the cooler, cleaned the whole pc. But it still overheats. So i think it may be the fault of the cooler, which isint pushing enough cool air in the heathsink. So how do i replace it so i can finally play games again ? Thanks

Before replacing the cooler determine it is actually overheating. What are you presently using to determine the cpu temp. If its a program you have for your video card or for your motherboard . Check it to see that its actually giving the proper temps . I use a ir thermometer. Some of these programs are far from accurate. Then check that the heat sink is actually making good contact with the cpu. make sure its fastened down securely . Next make sure you have the proper fan speed and that all the shrouded are in place around the fan Check to see that theres good air movement through the fan . Finally one last question. Did you not remove the fan and heat sink to reapply the thermal paste, then how do you not know how to replace it?
