Kenshin Dia “continues to malfunction and vibrate” since you have already cleaned it, it is possible that you have bend fins or a bad fan bearing. Replacing the fan is the only other option.

Chosen Solution The ipad is stuck at recovery mode whenever i try to recover with itunes- progress bar does not move. It has been suggested a firmware flash is needed, but the software I have seen requires payment. Are there free software to flash firmware? Or am i using the right method? You are using the right method. I suggest trying to re-install iTunes first if that does not help then try 3UTools with the repair driver method shown in the program....

(from youtube version) You have to remove the entire logic board assembly and the HDD too. Pain in the arse! You could try to use a mount like this one though.

You will need to do a bit of searching online as buying batteries requires that you find them somewhat locally, or at least shippable via ground due to the airline restrictions on lithium batteries. Look for local suppliers. In the USA, look at companies like Injured Gadgets, Mobile Defenders, ETrade Supply....
