Chosen Solution There is a strip on the phone that does not respond to touch. The phone does have touch disease and I have at least part of that fixed. Do you believe the strip is still related to the touch disease ? Same area on two different screens. That could definitely be the problem. Apple does have a program where you can bring in the phone and give them $120 and your current phone, and they’ll give you a replacement....

Chosen Solution I recently had some minor water damage to my MacBook Air and the display died. It appears to be the WLED driver as shining a light through the back of the screen reveals the display (and the computer itself still seems to be working). When I took it to my local Apple repair shop they said if it was the WLED driver chip they would have to replace both the logic board and the display, for a grand total of 900 USD....
Chosen Solution Sounds like you created a short and the back light fuse is blown. To double check take a flash light and hold it a steep angle to the face of the display do you see the faint outline of your desktop icons? If you do your in luck, if not sorry to say you have a bigger problem. Are you able to solder very small chips? You’ll need to desolder and re-solder the fuse....

The screen is distorted, visually squeezed to the left-third, is fuzzy like static in an old TV. What works: External displays work. Both HDMI and DisplayPort.
