Chosen Solution I am just too strong… I took my spudger and popped off the connection from the logic board. What do I do now??? This is not a huge deal. I just accomplished this feat in less than 30 minutes with a $30 investment in a micro solder tip for my iron and 0.015" solder. You just have to have a little confidence and a little patience. Chosen Solution I opened up my iMac mid 2011 21.5 to change the HDD to an SSD. Now all I get is a black screen after chime on boot. I’ve tried resetting PRAM, ensuring all 4 cables are seated correctly (the LVDS connection is a bit loose but is in), all 4 diagnostics LEDs come on and stay on. I changed back to the original HDD, I’ve cleaned all the dust out…but still no luck....

I can hear the hard drive, however the screen is off, with the old RAM the iMac works as expected. I have verified that the RAM is compatible and should work with my iMac. Once a cat gets clogged the exhaust is able to superheat the catalysts inside, melting/fusing them together and creating a more significant blockage. There is no saving it; it must be replaced....
Chosen Solution The touchscreen itself works. I can get to games since I memorized where they are on the gamepad screen. The screen will light up, but it only shows black or black and white lines.
