It was a refurbished unit and I’m pretty sure the seller hadn’t stuck the lower part on correctly. The large rubber pad to the lower right of the screen tore upon closing the lid the first time. It flapped around and looked awful after that, so I’ve torn it off and used some electrical tape for now to hide the gap....

This is true for standard paper cassette and for the additional paper cassette. I can buy a repair kit, but with no instructions, how to replace this rolls. Has anyone done this yes? Chosen Solution It’s far simpler to replace the full LCD/Glass/Frame assembly. Even majority of repair techs will change like this. To change the top glass, is called refurbishing, and this requires more specialised equipment, so for someone who does the odd repair, this isn’t cost effective at all. So it’s best to keep these working displays, and sell to a refurbishing company (I’ll gladly buy them if in the UK) To replace the top layer of glass, you’ll need all the tools which you already know of for a replacement, plus the following: Frame seperating tool - Different types, but most effective is a high temp heat plate designed to push the frame into it and soften the glue on the frame....

So I tried to hard reset it (power+home button), and that didn’t work at all. Then I tried plugging it into itunes and there it said it was in recovery mode and I had to restore it. So at least the battery is working. However, the issue is that she hasn’t done any backups that she is aware of so she’ll lose all her data, so this is a last resort....

Chosen Solution Hi all, I have a ASUS ROG G550JK laptop, which has an annoying problem. The screen does flicker randomly from time to time, by I mean randomly, it flickers for a frame only, and then doesn’t flicker for 5-10 mins etc. then flickers randomly for one frame again. One thing to note is this doesn’t happen on an external screen, only at internal laptop display. I have opened the laptop and reseated the LCD cable on the motherboard, then for 2-3 days it didn’t flicker but then it started again, figured it become loose again, I did the same process again, and it didn’t flickered for 2-3 days but now it’s flickering again....

Chosen Solution After replacing the logic board (with the guide), now every time I use the click button, or switch the hold switch, it shuts off the ipod. sonicsean89, double check your connectors and make sure the locking tab’s are down and that the cables are in straight and are properly seated. Sounds like it is shortening out. IF nothing else, replace the click wheel. If you still have problems with it, contact the vendor and see if you can get the logic board replaced Hope this helps, good luck

Chosen Solution I don’t have a cracked screen but out of no where it let me slide but only if it was from the time area where it shows the time but when I go to type in my password it just freezes and it won’t type in Press and hold the power and home button until the Apple logo shows. When it shows, release both keys.
