Hi @detourqueen A 2 beep error code is a memory problem, so the laptop won’t pass POST (Power On Self Test) when it is started and it stops with no display. In looking at the mother board connector, I can’t tell if the connector slides into place or if you just lift up on it and snap it back down. any insight would be appreciated. Thanks. On the bottom of your laptop to find the door where the RAM is, remove the memory module carefully. Try to just start with one module, try all the different combinations, by moving the RAM to the different slots, to see if it make a difference. Remember also, this series has some major overheating issues that leads to logic board (GPU) failure....

I did get the Snow Leopard install disc to eject, and when I restarted it, it gave me the classic blinking “? file” symbol. I tried plugging in a USB with elementaryOS as well as inserting a DVD with the ISO file on it, and all I’m getting is a blank white screen. Holding “option” on startup doesn’t work either....
