Chosen Solution I recently purchased a replacement battery from iFixit for my macbook pro (15” late 2013, retina, 2.3 GHz quad core i7 intel chipset). The old battery was well-beyond its lifespan and was swollen. Replaced according to instructions, and was successful - upon initial testing and running, the computer and its battery worked fine and was visible in the battery display on the menu bar. After a week or so, the battery is: 1) not charging, 2) not recognized by any of the system diagnostics or by the coconut battery app, 3) not showing up on the battery display on the menu bar....

I noticed the power button was stuck in, so took the screen off again, pulled the power button out, and used a metal spudger to clean up the hole so the button didnt stick. Yes the battery on the iPad can be replaced, but the difficult issues is getting the screen off without causing damage to the screen to get to that battery. I would first try another charger, making sure it’s an original apple charger. Second try hooking iPad to iTunes to see if the iPad is recognized by iTunes....

The 2012 retina system you have for parts uses a blade SSD which won’t work in your SATA based 2009 MacBook Pro, The retina systems RAM is soldered to the logic board so it can’t be salvaged either....
