Chosen Solution I have a strange issue with this iMac. When I tilt the display downwards, the display goes off for a second then comes back on - it blinks. I reproduced the anomaly multiple times by simply tilting the display down, without fail it will blink. It seems as if the display is shutting off and then turning back on again. I recently installed an SSD following the iFixit guide, could something I have done caused it, has anyone heard of this rare issue and is it resolvable?...

Chosen Solution So this is my fault, I admit it. But here are the details. A friend gave me a 2007 iMac that had Tiger installed on the hard drive, but the school didn’t wipe the drives and reinstall the OS, so I was stuck at a login screen. I was frustrated and got the idea to use the Snow Leopard install DVD that came with my MacBook Pro. While I couldn’t install that OS, I was able to use it to partition the hard drive three times (one for OS X when I can buy a copy, one for a Linux distro to use until then, and one small one for rEFInd later)....

Chosen Solution I got a new SSD from Crucial to replace the HDD that Apple said was dead. Old HDD would shut off during boot, and said it was full in recovery mode (wa only about half full). Got the new SSD, erased and setup as GUID partition, installed macOS. I installed the SSD, and it would hang half way into starting up. I made an external hard drive a bootable drive and booted from that....

Chosen Solution iMac 27" 2.66 GHz Core i5 (Late 2009) The machine is now 7,5 years old. A week ago it started with some flickering and a black screen for some seconds, but each day it became slightly worse to the point it was almost impossible to get something on the display. I took it to the Apple store for repair, but they say the machine is too old and they couldn’t get the needed parts anyway....

Chosen Solution Before i start, i replaced the battery on my macbook pro early 2015 model. I followed the instruction from ifixit to a T. When i went to turn the laptop on, the power button didnt do anything. I figured the new battery was dead so i went to plug it in and to my surprise the computer chimed at me simply from plugging it in… i had thought i had shut down completely before disassembly to install the new battery, but i guess not....

Chosen Solution I have an iPad 4 that has been laying around for 3 months which has run out of battery completely (like the low battery symbol wont show) and upon charging it up it will not boot. I am using the OEM apple cable and charging brick. Please show me a fix for this issue The only fix is a battery replacement, the iPad won’t start without a working battery....

Chosen Solution My earpiece speaker quit working. It went all at once - not intermittent. I didn’t drop it. I replaced the speaker, but it’s still not working. I did a hard reset on it. I plugged in the headphone jack a couple of times. I see that the speaker has spring contacts, but I didn’t clean under them during replacement. I did plug my phone into the iPad charger the day before it quit working....

This is a belated answer so hopefully it can be of use to folks who search for and find this question. Sometimes the replacement parts we receive can be defective or partially defective. Some vendors have better parts than others and generally speaking, you get what you pay for....

Chosen Solution I’ve had this iPhone since October 2018. It was purchased refurbished directly from Apple. No issues until 3 days ago. The phone would work normally when I’m using it, but once the phone is locked and screen is off, it will restart randomly by itself. The phone would never shutdown and restart while I’m using it. There are small pins (hinges) that keep the tops in, and most hook over a keyboard tang at the bottoms. Chosen Solution Battery won’t charge. If the battery won’t charge, 98% of the time it’s a bad battery. Google “coconut battery”, download and run it, and it will tell you the status if your battery including load cycles and current capacity. If the machine runs fine on ac power, most likely the problem is not the ac. I have never seen an ac that powered the computer yet was at fault for not charging the battery....

Chosen Solution My Samsung J7 Pro was subject to water spray from a plumbing incident and I did the rice thing and then left it in the sun for a few minutes to warm it a little, but I still have no active touch screen. I can’t therefore unlock it and it won’t shut down - I’ve tried button combos from online guides, but those instructions are more for issues when it won’t boot rather than not shut down....

Chosen Solution I’ve gone thru all the options on the Sony eSupport pages, it’s a no go. The power lite goes on, but nothing else works. The lil red “access lamp” (#25 in the manual, next to the sd card) flashes 2x then off, which may be an error code? The power lite goes off only if I remove the battery. @paulieh01 this should work to reset your camera: “The lil red “access lamp” (#25 in the manual, next to the sd card) flashes 2x then off” is an indicator for the memory card....

I would suggest that anything to do with airbags should be consigned to a professional - your life could depend on it! And if you do something wrong you could accidentally fire the airbag.

Chosen Solution I received 2 13” Macbook Airs in need of repair: a 2014 model with a cracked (but semi-working) screen, and a 2015 model with water damage, which caused its backlight to fail (but it did work using a flashlight). When I disconnected the LCD cable from the water damaged Macbook, a few pins on the right side looked slightly damaged, presumably corroded. Wanting to make sure that the backlight issue was caused by a logic board issue, I then swapped the logic boards and connected the water damaged logic board to the cracked LCD....
